1. My paper did not have any numbers to correct grammar. The thing I needed to work on was syntax in my writing. I learned to make sure to not write like I talk. To fix my wording if it sounds a little awkward. And one way to fix that is to read the essay out loud a couple of times.
2. What worked well for me was how we write the first draft. It helps me out a lot because it forces me to say everything I can think of to get the 1,200 words and then I have a lot of information to work with. The only thing that is still awkward to me is not writing in the five paragraph essay style just because it’s been so ingrained.
3. I think that my view has changed because I can see how much of a difference it makes in creating the voice in my essay and doing it in an intelligent way. The writing process has made it easier to deal with grammar because you give us direct references, examples, and you show us how to fix them in our own essays.
4. The lecture that I liked and helped me for my next essay is the PIE lecture. It was helpful to understand that the point is the claim you’re trying to make, information is the research and sources that we get, and the explanations are the connections that you make from one source to another. It lays it out and give you room to do your own thing but also makes it well structured.
