Reading Blog #1

The real reason I decided to take the English 11 and 1A hybrid class was because it was recommended by my former English professor, Tricia Lord. But as I started reading more into the course, I discovered that it would be the perfect class for me. I've always been interested in critical thinking and the idea of searching deeper into the text to find out what the author really wanted to get across to the reader, or what the writer wanted the reader to interpret from the text. Then on the first day of lecture I was sure that I would benefit from taking this hybrid course. The whole idea of going against the "Banking Concept" is completely what I'm all about. Ever since I was little my parents always instilled the same concepts that we will be learning and exploring in class, just to everyday life situations.
The skills that I hope to acquire while taking this class are being able to get my thoughts out on paper and being able to express them to the reader. I think that is going to be my main challenge during this semester. I seem to know what I want to say but not know how to say it or express it in a way that my reader can know what I was trying to get across. I'm really excited about the reading and writing processes that we are going to go through during this course I think that it will really help me on the challenges that I go through while I'm writing.

Writing Blog #1 (intro)

My name is Dorian.
My friends and family always come first and I love them dearly. Music is my muse. I try to go to shows or concerts as much as I can. I spend most of my time with my boyfriend Justin. We've been going out for almost two years. I've been working part time at Target for almost five months. I am going to transfer to University San Francisco next year. I want to study to become either an OB/GYN or Pediatrician.
